I again mailed the vendor telling her that I haven’t recieved the trainers till now. She mentioned the sneakers are on their way and will arrive within a week and in addition apologized for the same. I duly paid and we agreed upon a collection day and time.The day of the couch pick up had arrived, I was extremely delighted, I drove 100 miles to Wrexham and drove to the address which was given. When I arrived at the address I got a bit perplexed as it was looking like a warehouse and the seller had informed me that it was his house. I pressed the buzzer but no one came out of the warehouse, so I waitied and kept myself patient.As I thought nobody turned up, therefore I called my partner to check and give me the phone number of the seller, to my surprise the contact details had been deleted and the account was suspended. I had been scammed it was clear, no sofa and together with the petrol I was £450 out of pocket.The good news was that because I had paid through Paypal I did have a bit of security.I filed a dispute with them and was able to get my money back, however it is rather easy for that person to easily open another account with totally different name and card number and do the same thing again with someone else. I was advised the most effective thing to do with ebay collections is pay on pick up and write out a receipt ready for the vendor to sign.
