Understanding the Different Dish Network DVR Models

A Dish Network DVR is a device that records television programs onto a hard disk drive in digital format for later viewing. DVRs give the freedom for you to record, pause, rewind, and fast forward television shows as you please. However, there are many different models available with different features and capabilities. What exactly are the differences between all the different models of Dish Network DVRs? Here is a quick and basic overview of some of the different Dish Network DVR models and what they have to offer.

1) DISH Player-DVR 510. The DVR 510 has the standard video on demand services which gives you more control of your viewing. This feature allows you to pause live TV, skip recorded commercials, create instant replays,
and much more. It has the ability to fast forward and rewind in four speeds (4x, 15x, 30x, 300x). You can also skip forward up to 30 seconds and skip backward up to 10 seconds. There is a one-touch record management feature and the option to use the manual or automatic record timers. The DVR 510 also gives you easy access to the Extended Electronic Program Guide that lets you view up to nine days of programming and allows you to search by names, subjects, or actors (all stored onto the hard drive). This Dish Network DVR has a 120 GB hard drive integrated into the satellite receiver. It has the ability to record up to 100 hours of 100% digital programming.

2) DISH Player-DVR 522. Along with all the features that the DVR 510 has, the DVR 522 has two satellite tuners in one. This dual tuner gives
you the power to record two programs simultaneously, watch a live program while recording another, or even watch a pre-recorded program while recording two live programs. It also has custom program controls (parental locks, program information, picture-in-guide view, OnDemand Weather, favorite lists, and much more). In addition, this Dish Network DVR comes with 2 platinum plus remotes and had Picture-In-Picture (PIP) capabilities.

3) HDTV DVR 921. The HDTV DVR 921 model has all of the standard DVR features plus high definition technology. Like the DVR 522, the HDTV DVR 921 is a dual-tuner satellite system. However, in addition to the standard-definition (SD) capabilities, the 921 has the capacity to record and receive high-definition HD) television programming directly from Dish Network as well as from off-air
digital broadcasts. There is 180 hours of SD recording, 25 hours of HD recording, or any combination of the two. This Dish Network DVR has a 250 GB hard drive and comes with a UHF Pro 4-component universal remote control.

4) HDTV DVR 942. The DVR 942 model has all of the feature that all the other Dish Network DVRs have to offer and more. The HDTV DVR 942 is the first in the industry to offer both combined high-definition and standard definition two-tuner satellite receiver with multiple-room viewing capabilities. This means that you can join two or more televisions and still enjoy high-definition programming. This Dish Network DVR has a 250 GB hard drive and the most advanced high definition Digital Recording Technology. In addition, the HDTV DVR 942 comes with 1 UHF and 1 infrared 4-component universal remote control.

As you can see, there are many Dish Network DVR products to choose from. Each DVR has different features to match the needs of a particular consumer. As for which DVR is right for you, it depends what features are important to you and how much you are willing to spend. My recommendation would be the DISH-Player DVR 522. Unless you are set on being able to record high-definition programming, this DVR is a good deal with its dual tuner and custom program controls. No matter which model you pick, every Dish Network DVR will give you greater control of your TV viewing.

Teachers: Could You Use The 10 Best Classroom Management Interventions To Turnaround Problem Behavio

Unless you work with easy, mellow students, you will love our
“Top 10 Best Classroom Management Interventions to Turnaround
Problem Student Behavior.” These interventions are taken from
Youth Change Workshop’s Solution Center ( HREF=http://www.youthchg.com rel="nofollow">http://www.youthchg.com). There
are hundreds of strategies on the site, ready to be used by
teachers, counselors and youth workers. If classroom or group
management is an on-going nightmare, it will take more than
these ten new techniques to transform your class or group into a
dream, so be sure to check out the web site for methods that are
especially designed to rein in even the most uncontrollable
students.

1. Teacher Telegram (or Counselor, Therapist… Telegram) A
veteran, “world-class” special ed teacher was working with a
student when the child suddenly flipped over his desk and fled
the room. You won’t believe what this teacher had done! She had
written on the student’s math paper! That child interpreted that
help to mean that the teacher thought he was too stupid to do
the work himself, and bolted from the room in anger. Of course,
had this teacher known that the child would react in that
manner, she would have been happy to let the child do the
writing, or she could have written on scratch paper instead.

This incident is a classic, common situation that could have
easily been avoided if only the teacher had known the child’s
views. The Teacher Telegram surveys your youngsters to gather
the information you need to avoid problems that can perhaps be
averted or minimized. Make your telegram have about five
finish-the-sentence statements, and include queries like: “Some
of the things I like about your class are…,” “The one thing I
wish you would do differently is…,” “The one thing that helps
me is…,” “The one thing that does not help me is…,” and “My
other comments are…” You may be pleasantly surprised at how
much this little device, done periodically, can reduce or end
problems.

2. Studies have indicated that when girls are involved in
sports, they are far less likely to become pregnant, drop out or
engage in serious misbehavior. To encourage your female students
to consider sports, ask your girls to craft collages or posters
entitled “Silly Boys, Sports Are for Girls.”

3. A Taste of the Real World It can be very hard to convince
youth that they will desperately need education. For children
who have very poor reading skills, here’s an interesting and
compelling activity. Create a menu in a foreign language and ask
the students to order. To get you started, here are some Dutch
dinner items, but you can also go to a page like and enter
English menu terms and have the words translated into German,
French or other language. You may wish to actually serve some of
the items your students order. Select items that are very likely
to be viewed as distasteful, so you might consider offering
treats like sardines, stewed prunes and liver, foods that might
be thoroughly disliked, but are easy to purchase.

Choose Your Dinner Gebakken garnalen (Pan-Roasted Shrimp)
Gegrilde lamskoteletten (Grilled Lamb Chops) Vegeratische
pastachotel (Vegetarian Pasta) Rijstpudding met frambozencoulis
(Rice Pudding) When your students protest that they can’t figure
out what to do, let them know that could be their on-going adult
experience in the world if they don’t learn to read.

4. Education– You Can’t Live Life Without It Ask your students
to list out the most difficult things that they may face during
their lives. Elicit answers like manage a serious illness or
find a job. After reviewing the list, ask the students to
identify if education would help or hurt in each situation.
Assist students to note that education almost always helps, and
never hurts. Assist students to realize: Education– You Can’t
Live Life Without It.

5. There’s Always Welfare Hurry up. Welfare is going the way of
the buggy and 8 track tape deck. The number of welfare
recipients has dropped a phenomenal 50% in the past six years.
Plus, in most cases, you can be on welfare for five years and
then you are out for life,– yes, life. The amount of money
given out is down by as much as 90% in some places. The average
person may live nearly 80 years so welfare may be available only
6% of the time. To convey how tiny 6% is to your youngsters,
give 6% of your class a small treat, like a mint. Or, give each
student $300 in play money and then take all but 6% away,
leaving each youngster with just $18.

6. Three Little Lies To convincingly teach students how hard it
is to tell and keep a lie, ask each youngster to tell three lies
about things that are occurring that day. So, a typical lie
might be: “I have pink hair,” said by a brunette. Ask students
to repeat each lie at least three times an hour all day. The
next day, discuss how much energy, concentration and focus it
took to maintain those lies, and relate the discussion to actual
lies students have told in the past. Include in the discussion:
“Who does lying really fool?” Assist students to realize that in
many ways, the liar really most fools himself or herself.

7. Pay Attention Adults often expect young people to magically
know how to pay attention, but no one may have actually taught
the child how to do so. To teach the skills needed to pay
attention, teach each of these five skills one at a time: Get
your area ready, get yourself ready, watch the action, listen to
the action, control your body. You should use pictures, rag
dolls or other attention-grabbing devices to teach and drill the
skills into habits. But, until you teach the skills, you
shouldn’t expect them.

8. Can You Compute? Internet and/or computer skills are becoming
required for almost any job. You may have to scan a badge to
clock in at your job, or log onto a network to get your
assignments. Have your students strut their stuff by performing
internet or computer tasks. Here’s one to start: Find where to
get bakeapples, and locate a shipper to transport. Answer:
Bakeapples are a Newfoundland, Canada food; UPS could provide
shipping. Discuss with students where they can hone key internet
and computer skills.

9. Computers Rule For good or bad, computers are becoming
absolutely key to everyday work and living. More and more mail
is being sent over the internet, but at the same time, spam is
becoming a bigger and bigger hassle. Here at Youth Change, we
receive about 300 spams each day. It has gotten harder and
harder to spot the real e-mail from the junk e-mail. In fact, an
invitation to present our workshop in Europe was at first
deleted as our spam deletion program thought it was junk mail.
So, save up your real mail and junk e-mail (eliminating
offensive or personal items) then ask students to sort through a
very large amount of e-mail. Alternatively, create simulated
e-mails to use instead. Note how many times important items like
bills, renewal notices, and password information, are deleted.
Be sure to include bogus virus alerts, e-mails containing
“viruses”, and deceptive offers in the e-mails you give students
to process. When students mishandle items, note that education
and computer training can help.

10. Misbehaved Employees Wanted To show students that present
classroom management problems, that misbehavior won’t be
tolerated in the adult world, ask them to search the employment
classified ads for employers who seek employees with behavior
problems.

Hotels In Puerto Banus, Marbella, Spain

Puerto Banus in Marbella, Southern Spain is one of the most exclusive resorts in the world but there are only five Hotels that are actually in Puerto Banus itself.

Fair enough, there are plenty of Hotels throughout Marbella to cater for all tastes and budgets but if you want to stay in Puerto Banus, right in the heart of the place, what choices do you have and what are the names of the Hotels?

First of a brief description of Puerto Banus, Puerto Banus is all about the Marina which contains yachts and motor boats, large and small. The Marina in Puerto Banus is lined with pavement cafes and restaurants that serve a mixture of traditional Spanish food and the more typical modern cuisine that we are now used to and expect.

Until ten years ago that was basically it but now the resort stretches back from “the port” and engulfs 2 large shopping squares, Marina Banus indoor shopping complex and the five storey department store, El Corte Ingles.

You can also find shops such as Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Luis Vuitton, Hermes and Dior all within this small but select area.

So where to stay…

The 3 star Benabola Hotel in Puerto Banus is actually an Aparthotel where you can rent self contained apartments, studios, one bed, 2 bed and 3 bedrooms but with all the facilities of a Hotel, such as daily sheet changes etc. Each apartment comes with a small kitchenette. The Benabola is in an ideal location between one end of the port and the popular Plaza Beach.

The Pyr Hotel in Puerto Banus is another Aparthotel offering a selection of Studio and 1 bedroom apartments with their own kitchenette. The Hotel offers all the usual things, Pool, café etc and is in a good location, just back from the Port and right by the shops, but if you are unlucky you could end up with a room that has road noise from the main N340 that runs behind the hotel. Make sure you book your room with this in mind.

The largest Hotel is the 4 star Andalucia Plaza Hotel, a 390 room residence with both an indoor and outdoor pool that is great for the summer and winter. Together with a gym and one of only 3 Casinos on the whole Costa del Sol. Again you could get a room with a bit of road noise but the Hotel is in an ideal location just on the edge of town. It’s around a 7 minute walk to the port and under 5 minutes to the beach.

Located directly next to the beach is the 4 Star Hotel Dinamar in Puerto Banus, like the Andalucia Plaza this hotel is on the edge of town but close enough to be within walking distance of everything. The Dinamar Hotel offers excellent facilities and is adjacent to the main sea front promenade that connects Puerto Banus to Marbella.

The only remaining Hotel is the 4 star Park Plaza Suites. Located overlooking both the Port and Plaza Beach this Hotel is ideal for those who literally want everything on their doorstep. Plaza Beach is also on your doorstep and over the peak summer season Plaza Beach has lively beach parties with top DJs and Dancers on a Sunday afternoon and Thursday evening.

For many people looking to book their Holidays the Hotels in Puerto Banus seem like an expensive option when you can find slightly cheaper Hotels within a fifteen minute drive but please bear in mind that as most people spend every evening in the Port area the costs of Car Hire, parking and or Taxis every night could exceed the extra that one might pay to stay right in the heart of Puerto Banus.

The Man Who Offered to Beat Me Up

Today I received a long letter from a man who
created a new self-defense system. He claims
he can defeat anyone in under 3 minutes.

He wants me to promote him and his method.
He went on to say he’d be happy to meet with me
to prove his skills.

What did he have in mind?

He wants to beat me up.

I’m serious.

“If I can defeat you within 3 minutes,” he said
in his letter, “then you promise to promote me
and my products. Deal?”

He went on to give me the contact information
for his agent so I could set up the match.

It might have made an interesting webcast. I can
just see the headline:

“51-year-old formerly obese Internet Marketing Expert meets 30-year-old Superman-fit Martial Arts Expert in Quick-Kill Match. Register now.”

Gee, I wonder who would win?

I’d lose even if I went armed.

What would you have done?

How would you have responded to his offer?

Unless you’re a fighter looking for a match,
you’d probably toss this offer in the trash.

I often wonder what people are thinking. Does
this guy really think I’ll fight him? And then, if I lose,
I’ll gladly smile and start marketing him?

I don’t claim to be a fighter and am not seeking
bouts. I’m also not seeking new clients. Especially
clients who want to break my nose to prove they
are better than me.

When you reach out to anyone, keep in mind
that no one likes to be told they are inferior. It
is not a good way to win friends and influence
people. In fact, it’s not a good way to do much
of anything.

I think the lesson here is that we all have egos.
The better way to approach people is to put your
ego under theirs.

In other words, be willing to lower your status.
Don’t flaunt your stuff. Instead, show your weakness
and ask for help.

This nervy fighter might have done better by
offering to teach me his new method, not offering
to embarrass me with it.

This works in your marketing, too.

Rather than boast that you or your business
is the greatest, focus on how you or your business
can make your customer or client the greatest.

See the difference?

This redirection of focus can trigger a true
transformation in your sales.

Take heed.

See you in the ring.

What is Biotechnology

The UN Convention on Biological Diversity states, “Biotechnology is any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use”. The OECD (the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development) defines biotechnology as “…the application of scientific and engineering principles to the processing of materials by biological agents”. Thus, “Biotechnology” basically means using biology as the basis for a technology that is applied to research and product development in areas such as agriculture, food science, and medicine.

The Academic Standards for Science and Technology defines Biotechnology as the ways that humans apply biological concepts to produce products and provide services. This is very true if we consider a section of biotechnology in which the directed manipulation of organisms is used for the product of organic products such as beer, milk products, food etc.

Biotechnology had already been performed long before the term itself was coined, though on a very basic level. For example, man had already learnt the method of fermenting fruit juices to concoct alcoholic beverages during the period around 6000 BC. However, it was considered more of an art then. Biotechnology became a real science only about two decades ago when genes were found to contain information that would enable the synthesis of specific proteins. This was in the 1970s, when new advances in the field of molecular biology enabled scientists to easily transfer DNA - the chemical building blocks that specify the characteristics of living organisms - between more distantly related organisms.

Then in the mid-eighties and early-nineties, it was confirmed that the transformation or modification of the genetic structure of plants and animals was very possible. The introduction of “Transgenic” animals and plants also led to more resistance to disease and increased the rate of productivity etc. Modern biotechnology is also now more often than not associated with the use of genetically altered microorganisms such as E. coli or yeast for the production of substances like insulin or antibiotics. New innovative biotechnology application such as plant-made pharmaceuticals has also now been developed.

Sub-fields in Biotechnology:

Red Biotechnology is the use of genetically altered microorganisms for the production of substances like insulin, antibiotics, vitamins, vaccines and proteins for medical use, and is thus related to medical processes. Genomic manipulation is also an example of Red Biotechnology.

Biomanufacturing or White Biotechnology is emerging field within modern biotechnology which involves the designing of organisms such as moulds, yeasts or bacteria, and enzymes to produce certain useful chemicals, and is related to the industrial sector. It is also known as Grey Biotechnology.

Green Biotechnology or agricultural Biotechnology, like the name suggests, is the area of biotechnology involving applications to agriculture. This basically involves the genetic manipulation of plants and animals in order to create more productive, environmentally friendly, disease resistant species. An example of traditional agricultural biotechnology is the development of disease-resistant wheat varieties by cross-breeding different wheat types until the desired disease resistance variety is achieved.

Multi-Year Resistance

The stock market rallied recently on anticipation of a pause in the monetary tightening cycle, when the FOMC meets Sep 20th, because of hurricane Katrina. However, the market is near major resistance, and it’s uncertain if the FOMC will pause or tighten. Moreover, the market rallied on a fall in oil prices, from over $70 a barrel about two weeks ago to just over $64 on the close Friday.

Next week is options expiration week, which is typically a volatile week. Some current September Max Pain expirations are: SPX 1,220 with the value of calls over twice the value of puts (which is bearish, since the put/call is a contrarian indicator). SPX closed at 1,241 1/2. OEX 570 with the value of puts three times greater than the value of calls (which is bullish). OEX closed at over 574. QQQQ 39 with the value of puts 40% more than the value of calls. QQQQ closed at over 39 1/2.

The first two charts below are same period daily charts of SPX (S&P 500) and OIH (an oil ETF). Both SPX and OIH rallied recently (although, oil prices fell), because institutions hedged oil and non-oil stocks, in case the FOMC does or doesn’t tighten. SPX is currently just over its upper Bollinger Band, which is resistance. Support is at 1,230, i.e. late last week’s low. There’s further support in the low 1,220s, i.e. the 10, 20, and 50 day MAs. OIH resistance is at its upper Bollinger Band. The 10 day MA is current support. If OIH fails to hold the 10 day MA, then the 20 and 50 day MAs, and lower Bollinger Band are support levels.

The third chart is an SPX monthly chart that shows further resistance at 1,246 (the recent and four-year high), 1,252 (monthly upper Bollinger Band), and 1,253 (multi-year Fibonacci level). Consequently, it seems, SPX is near a short-term top. So, if SPX rises early next week, that may be an excellent opportunity to buy September or October puts. Also, I may add, intrinsic value becomes more important closer to expiration. So, September in-the-money options are much safer than September out-of-the money options next week. Also, SPX September options will have huge leverage, because of time value decay and high strike prices.

Next week economic reports are: Monday: None, Tuesday: PPI, Trade Balance, and Treasury Budget, Wednesday: Retail Sales, Industrial Production, and Capacity Utilization, Thursday: CPI, Unemployment Claims, Business Inventories, Empire State Index, and Philadelphia Fed, and Friday: Current Account, and Michigan Consumer Sentiment. Also, the weekly oil inventory report is each Wednesday.

The unwinding of options, anticipations and announcements of economic reports, and oil prices should generate a great deal of volatility next week. If the market remains high before the FOMC announcement a week from Tuesday, then the news may be discounted, and the market may fall (whether the FOMC tightens or not). Moreover, earnings warning season in late September, end-of-the-quarter window dressing, and third quarter earnings in October should contribute to volatility over the next few weeks.

Making Your New Year’s Fitness Resolution a Reality - Part 2

Beware of “burn out.” This usually happens after you have
achieved a short-term goal. You pat yourself on the back and
decide to “kick it up a notch,” but your body is at the limit.
You have to listen to your body. Although you can make
improvements “in leaps and bounds,” it is not a machine.

Use different approaches: Walk, use cardio machines, swim, and
use weights. If you are bored, jump into a group fitness class
such as Yoga, Pilates, cardio kickboxing, spinning, aerobics,
body shaping, or something else. You may find one of them to be
your “calling.”

Don’t knock anything until you have tried it. Many people
perceive an exercise to be one thing, until they are deeply
involved in it. There’s nothing wrong with being the only man in
a Yoga class. Also, there’s nothing wrong with being the only
woman in a martial arts class.

Fitness is an equal opportunity environment, so get the
stereotypes out of your head and don’t buy into classic excuses.
I had a client with Cerebral Palsy on one side of her body. She
had also been involved in a traffic accident, which caused
permanent damage to her knee and ankle, on the other side of her
body.

She used to drive an hour from her home in Massachusetts to our
location in North Providence, Rhode Island. She was around 60
pounds over her ideal weight. She never made excuses or missed
an appointment. She lost all of that weight within two years,
and she is now a personal trainer.

Make sure the people you surround yourself with are supportive
of your goals. For example: It’s hard to lose weight if your
husband insists on bringing home a supply of Big Macs every
night. Your resolution may turn into a disaster if this is the
case.

You may have to adjust your lifestyle to be persistent,
positive, and goal oriented. Once you carry through, and succeed
with one resolution, it will be a fantastic experience. This is
the beginning of using goal-setting skills to enhance the
quality of your entire life.

Lastly, remember this all started with writing down a plan that
I mentioned in Part One. Your resolution should be as detailed
as possible. Clearly define your resolution with realistic time
frames and deadlines. Your odds of following through, making
progress, and reaching your goals, will exponentially increase
just by putting it in writing. Consider this a contract with
yourself.

We Are From Jesus Christ

Most people wonder at one time or another where do we as humans come from, or how do we breathe. Some say from evolution and some say from air. Well I like to dispute this way of thinking. Has anyone every ask them were do evolution come from, or what makes air? Let’s see what the Bible says; look at Genesis 1:1 In the Beginning God created the Heavens and the earth. If you continue reading in Genesis 1 at verse 27 it says So, God created man in his own image, in the image, of God he created him; male and female he created them. This chapter also explains how the World was started. It states in John 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. Now continue on to Genesis 2:7 it says the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

What a Spiritual Blessings in Christ. If you look at Ephesians 1:3 it says Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Wow!!! Now is that a good feeling or what to know that you have been chosen by Jesus Christ before the world begun. By Faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible, as it states in Hebrews 11:3. It clearly says in Romans 8:16 that the Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. If you read further in at verse 18 it says I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

Children of God

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him! Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. 1John 3:1 surely states this. For it is written in Romans 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Love Always,
Your Sister in Jesus Christ

THE PECAN PIE

This is a short version of story number 14(out of 50) from my book, My Walk with the Lord, www.selahbooks.com

Psalm 37.4 “Delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

One Friday afternoon, I got an intense desire for a slice of homemade pecan pie. I had just read the above scripture verse so I prayed and asked the Lord to give me a piece of pie, the desire of my heart at that time.

Saturday night, I went to a gospel sing at a small country church. After the singing was over, refreshments would be served. I knew a pecan pie would be on the dessert table.
The singing was wonderful…a great spiritual blessing was received by all. How that little white church vibrated as the singers and musicians lifted up the name of Jesus.

As someone gave thanks and asked the Lord to bless the food and time of fellowship, my mouth began to water for that slice of pecan pie.

Well, the food was good but I was disappointed because there was no pecan pie in sight…all other kinds were there, but no pecan pie.

Sunday morning, one of my nephews called and invited me to go to a church service honoring high school graduates. He wanted me to pray for the graduates. After the service, refreshments were to be served. I just knew that night, my desire for a slice of pecan pie would be met. I had often been to suppers at that church, and many times I’d seen four or five pecan pies on the dessert table.

The service was beautiful…it honored the graduates and the Lord. As the pastor asked the blessing over the food, I anticipated the first bite of that slice of pecan pie.

We went back to the social hall, and I saved a place on my plate for that pecan pie. I approached the dessert table, and stared with disbelief…no pecan pie in sight! I swallowed my disappointment, and still thanked God for the good food I ate. However, I still wanted that pecan pie…just one slice.

Monday morning, I awoke, made some coffee and read my Bible. The scripture I read was Mark 11.24 (”Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye shall receive them, and ye shall have them.”) I had prayed for that slice of pecan pie and I was still looking for it.

I finished my reading and went to get in my truck to go to town. I opened the door, and there, sitting on the front seat, pretty as you please, was a whole fresh homemade pecan pie. As tears of gratitude to the Lord formed in my eyes, the Lord spoke to me and said, “See, you only desired a slice of the pie but I can give you a whole one!” Thank God that He cares for and loves us so much.

This event happened almost 5 years ago. When I woke this morning, the Lord had me write this true story. Bless God if today, the same neighbor came by and gave me another whole pecan pie as I was writing! That is God’s way of confirming that I should write in a book this wonderful true story.

John 3,27 “John answered and said, a man can receive nothing, except it be given him from Heaven.”
